The race, taking place on Sunday, November 23rd, will feature the Marathon and 10K distances.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zurich International Marathon of Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/strong><\/a> will kick off with renewed excitement for 2025 next Wednesday, January 22nd, with the opening of registrations.<\/strong> As the second-oldest marathon in Spain, it aims to repeat last year’s \u201csold out\u201d success and surpass 10,500 registrants. For the third consecutive year, San Sebasti\u00e1n will be part of Zurich’s “The Big 5” circuit, alongside Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville.  <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the great growth in the number of participants in the Marathon distance, and to guarantee its protagonism and safety in an urban circuit adapted to its needs, the Zurich Marathon Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/strong> recovers the original spirit of the race and from 2025, the main race will only be accompanied by a 10K, which will start earlier and will have a different route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this change, the Zurich International Marathon of Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/strong> aims to reclaim its status in 2025 as the “fastest marathon in the country.”<\/strong> In 2023, participants completed the race in an average time of 3 hours and 34 minutes\u2014the best average time among the Big 5 marathons. To achieve this, the organizers will again implement several initiatives to create a fast race that accommodates participants aiming for personal bests as well as those with more recreational or tourism-focused goals. The time limit for completing the 42.195 kilometers is 5 hours. However, in 2023, 79% of participants finished the marathon in under 4 hours, the highest sub-4-hour finisher percentage in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launch offer with bibs starting at \u20ac49 for the Marathon and \u20ac17 for the 10K<\/td><\/tr>
After the Tamborrada on San Sebasti\u00e1n Day, next Tuesday, the 22nd, registrations will open for both distances with a launch offer for the first bibs of each category.<\/strong>\u00a0The promotional price will be \u20ac49 for the marathon and \u20ac17 for the 10K. Thanks to an agreement with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, athletes from Gipuzkoa will have a special price of \u20ac42 until May 31st. \u00a0\u00a0All prices include the bib\/chip, a gift T-shirt, a finisher medal, private accident insurance, 21% VAT, and up to 16 aid stations for the marathon distance. Additionally, there is a comprehensive package of services, including bag drop-off, showers, free urban buses, a recovery and massage area, a live tracking app, and more. Marathon athletes without a state federation license will need to pay the RFEA a \u20ac5 fee for a one-day license. \u00a0\u00a0The quotas for 2025 will include 7,000 bibs for the marathon and 4,500 for the 10K, bringing together 11,500 athletes and their companions in the city on the fourth weekend of November.\u00a0<\/strong>All registrations for the\u00a0Zurich Marathon of San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/strong>\u00a0must be made through the official website:\u00a0www.zurichmaratonsansebastian.com<\/a>.
