A fast and epic marathon

The 2022 edition of the San Sebastian Marathon will be held on Sunday, 27 November.
The event will introduce as a great novelty, the possibility of running a half marathon, in addition to the already existing 10k race.
The opening of registrations will take place on the 28th of March for both races.
13.01.20212- The 44th edition of the Zurich Maratón San Sebastián is warming up its engines and confirms the date of the next edition, which will take place on Sunday, November 27th. After meeting again with a loyal public last November, who were looking forward to a marathon after a year without a race, the San Sebastian Marathon showed why it is one of the most important marathons in Spain.

With the debut in 2021 of the new organisation of the race in the hands of the tandem formed by RPM Sports and Donosti Eventos, where we saw novelties such as the Gosaria Run – the shared training session that brought together friends and family in a festive and carefree outing on a 5km circuit -, this 2022 will also come with important novelties.

New 2022: Half Marathon

In addition to the already existing marathon and 10k race, runners will be able to participate in a Half Marathon on 27 November. With the introduction of this distance, the organisers have increased the number of participants by giving them the chance to run a 21km circuit through the centre of the capital of Gipuzkoa. A race that will guarantee that on 27 November we will experience a great festival of popular athletics, where the festive atmosphere and the warmth of the Basque public will be the main protagonists of the day.

A great running festival where San Sebastian will once again demonstrate its passion for this sport as it did last November, when runners and the public took over the city. There was nothing to stop the desire of the citizens to experience, once again, one of the most important days of athletics in the Basque Country.

Gosaria Run, Maratoi Txiki and Welcome Point

The organisers want to maintain the parallel activities planned for last year’s edition. Thus, the Maratoi Txiki will hold the children’s races on Saturday, November 26th. Likewise, the Gosaria Run and the Welcome Point will be the nerve centre of the race on the day before the marathon.

Registration opening: 28 March

Participants will be able to plan their 2022 calendar in time to finish the season at the end of November at the Donostia Marathon. Registration for the three distances can be done from next Monday 28th March on the official web page of the event: zurichmaratonsansebastian.com.

The Zurich Maratón San Sebastián 2022 activates the ON Mode where it hopes to bring the essence of this race to everyone, about a marathon that will leave no one indifferent: a fast and epic marathon through one of the most beautiful cities in the world, San Sebastián.
